Who Can Join?

MIT LIVE is open to all MIT community members. Instrumentalists, vocalists, songwriters, producers, and audio visual/lighting tech are all welcome.

Auditions for instrumentalists and vocalists are held at the start of every semester. Prepare 1-2 minutes of any song you choose.

NOTE: If auditioning on multiple instruments, you may choose to sign up for multiple slots or perform multiple at the same time (for example, singing and playing guitar simultaneously). Instruments are available to borrow for your audition if needed.

Those interested in other roles should email us and set up a meeting!

What to Expect as a Member

You'll be placed in a band based on the semester's setlist (voted on by the club), rehearse with your bandmates throughout the semester, and perform at our end-of-semester showcase.

Members may also join gig band (via an additional internal audition) and record YouTube covers.

Returning Members

In order to retain active membership status, members must participate in club activities (showcase performance, gig band performance, recorded cover) at least once over the course of 2 semesters. Members who take a break exceeding one semester are considered "inactive" and must reaudition.
